Scrapbook Blessings Club Challenge #23

Hey Y'all! 

The challenge over at SBC is being sponsored by A Day for Daisies. Head on over to their website and check out their digi images, so many talented artists. I felt as though I had to really stretch to live up to artwork that is these digi stamps! 

This was a fun challenge because I had an image that to me was extremely artistic, soft, and elegant. I was also focusing on my coloring and learning how to bring out the romantic feeling that I get when I look at the image I colored. I hope I did it justice! 

I wanted to really feature this image and didn't want it to get lost on the card, so the rest of the card is very simple and clean as to not detract from the image itself. 

A Day for Daisies has so many images to choose from! Don't tell my hubby but I think I spent a couple of hours trying to make my mind up on the image I wanted I still couldn't pick just one ha ha!

Challenge #22 at Scrapbook Blessings Club

Hi Everybody! Thanks for stopping by, it's time for our next challenge over at SBC and this tutorial was awesome! I love learning new things and this challenge allows you the chance to give a cute card and a little something extra that the recipient can take with them everywhere.

The image that I used is from the Stamping Chef and these images make me want to color and craft all day! It was so hard to decide which one to use and then once I finally made my choice I just couldn't stop playing with it.

Anything goes over at the SBC challenge but if you are looking for something to try you should definitely check this tutorial out. Either way we would love to see what you have been inspired to create so come on over and join in the fun!

Challenge 20- Anything Goes (feature tutorial: Emboss Resist)

Hi friends!
Kimmy here for ScrapBook Blessings Club to share with you what I came up with for Challenge 20 featuring the tutorial: Emboss Resist.

First, I have a quick tip for you.... Think of taking something that you have created that you ended up just loving the way it turned out and displaying it in your space and then when you are either ready to look at something else or something new and wonderful takes its place (as tends to happen with us crafters) then use it as you had originally intended i.e. as a card or layout. 

To my delight this emboss resist technique turned out so cute that I just cannot yet part with it, I just love looking at it and so I am going to let it "live" in my room until that inspiration runs out.

This challenge totally took me out of my comfort zone, I watched the tutorial video, oh about 5 times before I took the plunge! :) I am excited for Summer and I was itching to use the La La Land Stamp that I had just gotten my hands on! Squee!

 This is going to be a first, I made this project fully intending on this to be a card which is why it is 6x6 but I did not do the inside and actually have not adhered it to any card stock but as I kept looking at it and realized just how much I enjoy looking at it, it dawned on me that I don't want to part with it so it is becoming decoration in my room to inspire me and remind me to try new things! 

Here is what you need:

• white card stock 
• an image that you want to use (chunky images do tend to show up best but don't hesitate if it's an image you really want to use, you can always choose a different image if you end up not liking how it turns out)
• 2-3 different color inks 
• a blending tool of some sort (the video shows daubers I used a mini blending tool
• Versamark to stamp the image in
• white or clear embossing powder
• heat tool
• card stock of your choosing that goes with your design

Challenge #19 Pop Up Box Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by! 

This is my first ever pop up box card, I was super excited to give it a try. Our sponsor is DRS Designs and I love, love, love their stamps! The stamps I used on this card are both from DRS Designs and my sentiment was great but my main image was a bit bigger than what I really needed for the size of my card.

One of the really great things about this card is that it fits in a regular envelope, so I was determined to use the stamps I had chosen and finagled with it enough until I found a way to get that sassy little cat to work! 

It turned out very cute and I will be working on another one that I will be adding more elements to so check back in and see how I progress along. Try it for yourself it was a fun project and has a great wow factor for the recipient.

Make A Picture

Make a Picture Challenge #18

Hi Everybody! 

Today I bring you a cute little girl from Bugaboo Stamps who is our sponsor this week for Scrapbook Blessings Club. 7 wonderful digital stamps goes to the winner of this new challenge. The challenge that the team took on was to make a picture for your background. This is something I had never done with inks before and it was so much fun (love the chance to get a little messy!)! 

I also got to play with my Spectrum Noir markers. I have heard how wonderful they are and when I ran out of ink in my skin tones for my promarkers I decided to make the switch. One of the selling points for me is that the Spectrum Noir markers are refillable and you can now get a brush tip end if you choose to and you can replace whichever end you wish (I plan to replace the chisel tip end since I don't ever use that side).

So here is the tutorial that I watched for the technique if you would like to check it out, I have since watched several more of her videos and I think I might be hooked now.

Supplies:

• white card stock paper ( Georgia Pacific, I made a card front in case the inking had to be redone.)
• inks and sponge (I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in China Blue for the sky and Tea Dye for the ground)  one thing I would note is make sure you do your ground dyeing before you stick anything down, I was so focused on making sure that she was actually sitting on the bench that I missed a whole step!) 
• cut out the clouds from white cards stock paper using my Slice machine and the Zootopia card
•  the bench is a die cut from La La Land Crafts which I cut out using my Big Kick
• the image is from Bugaboo Stamps colored with Letraset Promarkers and Spectum Noir markers
• I used my Xyron adhesive machine (I have the small purple one) to run the image through and make a sticker out of it
• once I had stuck the image to the bench I used Mono multi adhesive from Tombow to glue the bench down
• used ATG Gun to adhere the card front to the base of the card
• not sure where the Hello sentiment stamp came from it was in my stash and I acquired it back before I was in the habit of trying to put down what I used...sorry

Challenge #15 "Say it in Words"

Take a look at this tutorial it was what I used as a guide for the card I created.This design was definitely not something I would have come up with on my own, just another great thing about being a part of Scrapbook Blessings Club, getting to try new ideas and learn new things! Now I have a pretty new card to add to my stash (one of my goals for this year!)!

• Rub on images (sorry they were in my stash not sure where I got them)
• White cardstock (Georgia Pacific)
• On the inside I used a post it note for the center spot to write my memo on
• Brown cardstock base for card 
• I used my corner chomper to round the corners
• ATG gun to adhere the card front and the post it note

SBC Challenge #14 Punches Galore

Hi All! 

The Design Team is sharing new ways to use punches over at Scrapbook Blessings Club. They have a great tutorial posted on the blog to get you started. The digi stamp I chose from Meljen’s Designs was this adorable birdhouse that I used on my card. My sister in law is still getting settled into her home and I wanted to send her a little note to let her know I’m thinking of her. This little image is perfect! All the design team members will be using an image from Meljen’s Designs go over and check it out then get your craft on! 

Supplies:

• cardstock for base of card (chocolate brown which I covered up with the card front) 
• Bugzie from Around the Block is the patterned paper with the little bugs, butterflies, etc that I used for the background
• I used one of my Martha Stewart border punches to get the flower border 
• I used a Pearl Pen from Viva Decor to add the little yellow center
• I colored my image with Letraset Promarkers 
• the little green pearl flourish is from Zva Creative
• you would really have to be able to hold the card yourself to see it but I also used washi tape under the flower border so that the border would stand out better
• pop dot pieces to pop up the flower border so that it would give some depth to the card

Guess What!?!

Today I get to announced that I have joined the Facebook Design Team for ScrapbookBlessings Club! I am so excited! This is my first design team and I am thrilled, nervous, excited all kinds of good things going on inside.

This is what I made for the challenge it is the very first time I have ever made an Easel Card. I followed this tutorial to make it. OMG! was it easy to make and fun...now I wanna make more, everyone I know might get an easel card for the rest of the year ;)  I will try to reign myself in...maybe!

Supplies:

•  1 piece of 12x12 cardstock of your color choice
• image is from Penny Black "Fairy Holly"
• colored with Letraset Promarkers
• black bling swirly from Sva Creations
• flowers from Prima
• patterned paper in background on the front of card and matting the sentiment is from MME's Christmas 6x6 paper pad
• black with white polka dotted strip in the background and on the inside of the card are washi tape!
• not sure where the sentiment came from it's been in my stash for years
• stickled it up with diamond stickles
• used Glossy Accents on the snow globe so it would look like glass
