Scrapbook Blessings Club Challenge #23

Hey Y'all! 

The challenge over at SBC is being sponsored by A Day for Daisies. Head on over to their website and check out their digi images, so many talented artists. I felt as though I had to really stretch to live up to artwork that is these digi stamps! 

This was a fun challenge because I had an image that to me was extremely artistic, soft, and elegant. I was also focusing on my coloring and learning how to bring out the romantic feeling that I get when I look at the image I colored. I hope I did it justice! 

I wanted to really feature this image and didn't want it to get lost on the card, so the rest of the card is very simple and clean as to not detract from the image itself. 

A Day for Daisies has so many images to choose from! Don't tell my hubby but I think I spent a couple of hours trying to make my mind up on the image I wanted I still couldn't pick just one ha ha!

Challenge #22 at Scrapbook Blessings Club

Hi Everybody! Thanks for stopping by, it's time for our next challenge over at SBC and this tutorial was awesome! I love learning new things and this challenge allows you the chance to give a cute card and a little something extra that the recipient can take with them everywhere.

The image that I used is from the Stamping Chef and these images make me want to color and craft all day! It was so hard to decide which one to use and then once I finally made my choice I just couldn't stop playing with it.

Challenge #17 DIY Flowers

Hi There! Come join us over at Scrapbook Blessings Club for Challenge #17. Making our own flowers is something that each design team member has taken on and they are showing exactly what they did. So you can share with us a method you already know or pick up a few methods that you may want to give a try. 

I want to share with you a way to make your own flowers out of paper. The flower design that I used on this card I started making last year. I remember being at a crop with some of my girlfriends and playing with the paper and the idea. 

What I did to create the flower was to take a patterned paper that I really liked and cut into half inch strips that are about 4 inches long. This can be shrunk down or cut larger depending on how big of a flower you want. I then took my paper piercer and pierced through the end of the strip on both sides. I folded the strips over but make sure that you don't crease it because these will create the petals of your flower. 

When I was making this I wanted to use the pink button for the center of the flower but needed something to hold it all together rather than trying to glue it all down which I'm sure would work also but I'm not that patient! So I used a large brad to secure all the strips and it also created a flat back that made it easier to attach once it was made. I also used a glue dot to adhere the button center and glued it to the brad. 

The rest of the card is pretty basic, I am in the middle of moving my room around and most of my items are displaced. I did however have access to my Bic markers so that is what I used. I drew the stem and leaves with a pencil then went over them with markers did some light blending but nothing really precise and them used my Sakura gel pens to add some glitter to the flower and the stem itself. 

The sentiment is a sticker that I had in my stash and I thought it worked well with keeping the card clean and simple. At first I wasn't sure if I was happy with it but the more time has passed I think it turned out cute albeit simple.

Challenge #15 "Say it in Words"

Challenge #15 is sponsored by Stamp and Create. Take a look at this tutorial it was what I used as a guide for the card I created.This design was definitely not something I would have come up with on my own, just another great thing about being a part of Scrapbook Blessings Club, getting to try new ideas and learn new things! Now I have a pretty new card to add to my stash (one of my goals for this year!)!

Supplies:

• Rub on images (sorry they were in my stash not sure where I got them)
• White cardstock (Georgia Pacific)
• On the inside I used a post it note for the center spot to write my memo on
• Brown cardstock base for card 
• I used my corner chomper to round the corners
• ATG gun to adhere the card front and the post it note

Is That Christmas Paper!?!

I am taking on this week's challenge from Cuttin'and Stampin' and the challenge is to use Christmas Paper in a non traditional, non Christmas way. I am currently working on building my card stash so I decided to make a birthday card. It just worked out that the paper I wanted to use would go super cute with the image I wanted to use as well (love it when things come together!).

  

The paper that I used for the background is from the Holly Jolly {with glitter} paper back from the Paper Studio which I purchased from Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago.

The image that I colored is Sugar n' Spice Marci from La la land Crafts, if you are not familiar with them they offer digi stamps and rubber stamps, I have a mix of both it just depends on how impatient I am! ;) I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored it in with Letraset Promarkers.

I used pink paper from my stash I think it came from a huge pack of Costco that I bought about seven to eight years ago and I am still trying to go through it. I used a Martha Stewart border punch to punch out the little flower borders and then I inked them up with Chestnut Roan cats eye.

I punched out the little design for the sentiment with an EK Success punch. The stamp set I used for the sentiments on the front and on the inside of the card come from Amy R Stamps Sweet Sentiments. 

 I used Stickles on her bow, her apron and the little heart on the cupcake. I also use my white Jelly Roll pen from Sekura to lighten up the whites of her eyes. I then use Glossy Accents by Inkssentials to place on her eyes and her lips to make them glossy. I'm sure I saw it in a video and I really liked the effect it created.

Does this happen to any of y'all? This card was supposed to go toward building my stash of cards to be able to pull from later, but as soon as I was finished with it I thought of a friend to give it to and her birthday is like next week. I am so glad that I thought of her but I never seem to be able to get ahead, that is a goal for me this year. I need a stash of cards to be able to pull from!
